In her Channel 7’s Sunrise Morning Show interview, Gina highlighted that a car is stolen every 11 minutes in Australia, with most thefts occurring at home.
Thieves use Onboard Diagnostic (OBD) devices to hack key fob signals. Gina advised keeping car keys away from entry points, using signal-blocking metal boxes, or even wrapping keys in aluminium foil for protection. Commonly stolen models include Holden Commodores, Toyotas, and Jeeps. She stressed that unlocked homes and cars significantly increase theft risk.
