Penrith security guard Gina Field a born leader
PENRITH business owner Gina Field is one of six finalists announced for the NSW 2013 Premier’s Woman Of The Year awards.
Mrs Field, of Claremont Meadows, has been considered for the award because she is “a leader in the traditionally male dominated field of private security and has also shown unwavering dedication and commitment to the community of Penrith”.
She started Nepean Regional Security in 1998 and turned it into an award-winning business. In November they won the Business Leader category of the NSW Business Chamber annual state awards.
Mrs Field was excited to be a finalist and said it was great for Penrith. “Younger women who are coming out of school (and) don’t know what they want to do in life can be successful in a male-dominated industry and in non-traditional roles,” she said.
Premier Barry O’Farrell will announce the winner on Thursday, March 7.
